Asia 2017 Vacation

Asia 2017 Vacation

Asia 2017 was amazing!  My wife and I visited Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Bali, Indonesia.  The food was incredible!

In summary here is the strategy I followed for 15 days

  • I used Intermittent Fasting to control my food intake and usually did one big meal a day
  • Since I couldn't track calories because I wasn't in control of my food, I did my best to stick with lean proteins and avoid deep fried items and limited desserts.  That's not a big deal to me anyway as I don't gravitate towards those items.
  • To fill in the time from waking to eating I would mostly have water and coffee in the morning.  I still drank beer throughout the day usually past 11am, but that's still not enough to undo my caloric intake limit.
  • For activity we did TONS of walking. I was more active overall on vacation than when I am at home.  I only spend 3-4 hours in the gym a week at home and just lift heavy.  No cardio so I am very sedentary in general.  While we can't out exercise over eating the walking everyday on vacation definitely helped offset the food intake.

And here are the results. I gained a whopping 2 pounds!

It's not easy BUT it also isn't overly complicated to do.  I just needed to plan my day and be accountable for what I was eating with lower calorie choices and made sure I was filled up so no unnecessary binging would go on.
