If you know me well, then you also know that my weight doesn’t preoccupy my thoughts. I enjoy eating all kinds of food and don’t categorize any as “good” or “bad”. I barely adhere to any type of formal exercise routine and l’ve usually maintained a weight close to what it was in high school, within about 10lbs.

Of course there have been times over the years where I gained weight beyond that “10lbs range” and there was always something I could attribute it to - extended holiday eating, a little “too” much fun during (and after) Caribana, personal life issues, working behind a desk in corporate real estate vs out and about showing properties... yada, yada, yada. And so because I recognized what the shift was, I also knew how to get back on track.

And then the pandemic hit.

At first I felt uncertain, nervous and even anxious - something I don’t usually feel. I paused, binge watched Netflix, went for walks and lined up for take out and groceries.

Once real estate picked back up, and then took on the pace it did, I was left with little room to reset my home life and reestablish my familiar routines. I didn’t have a blueprint for working, living and navigating in a pandemic (who did?) but I also got further and further away from any sort of work/life balance... and further and further from my 10lbs comfort zone.

My old ways of getting back on track were no longer effective, and I couldn’t focus on sifting through the information out there to put it together in a way that worked for me now. I also felt my mindset shifting as my life was changing in several areas. I was craving more stability and consistency overall (... in a pandemic? me and my timing 🤦🏽‍♀️) and I knew I needed some guidance in this area - but from who? from where?

And then I saw a friend mention Gil and Mighty Transformation in a post and remembered that she, and several other women I know, had done his program with long term success. I decided to reach out to her and get her full personal perspective knowing that she’s as shrewd and thorough in her vetting as I am. We talked for over an hour, and I immediately contacted Gil.

He let me know that the current session had already started and that I would have to wait for the online fall session (uhhh... what? you mean you’re not just willing to take my money to sign me up now?). Instead, Gil sent me an assessment to complete, and it was then that I knew I had made the right choice. The questions asked really made me contemplate what I wanted to accomplish for myself through this program.

I knew this was going to be about way more than nutritional information and developing better habits.

When they say nothing before its time, it’s so true. While I was ready to make the changes in this area of my life to bring more consistency to my weight and my habits, I was not at all prepared for the level of knowledge, support, encouragement, transparency, humour, customization and attention to detail that I received from Gil and the amazing women in my online group.

When I tell you Gil is with you every single day, multiple times a day, working with you to develop the blueprint that works best for you and your lifestyle I mean... Gil is with you every single day, multiple times a day, working with you to develop the blueprint that works best for you and your lifestyle. No joke.

It’s hard to convey the affect this program and experience has had on me, but here’s something I shared in our Mighty Transformation Facebook group that truly speaks to my experience:

“It’s really incredible to see how far we’ve all come. If someone said “lose 10 pounds in 10 weeks!” (or 12 pounds in 12 weeks) I don’t think that would be incentive enough to draw me in - in fact I’d probably roll my eyes and say “really...?” But when I see what that weight loss truly represents... the confronting reality and preparing to change, the mindfulness, the applying the foundations to create your own blueprint, the eliminating the guesswork, the autonomy through accountability to yourself, the support and shared journey of all of us here and the unbelievable applicable knowledge, care and devotion of an approachable coach - it’s beyond phenomenal. Truly, so very grateful.”

If you’ve read this far, thank you! It’s not often I post something this personal... or long.

If you find yourself in a similar position and want to chat with me about my experience, then feel free to send me a message (...and then we’ll talk, because chances are I miss the sound of your voice ☺️💞).

And about that 10lbs comfort zone? Let’s just say, like everything else in 2020, I’ve reached beyond my comfort zone...😉
