It’s been 10 months since I joined the Mighty Transformation program and to this day it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Before I joined, I had gained weight through the pandemic and I was the heaviest I had ever been. I wasn’t comfortable with myself and on top of that, I was experiencing pain in my back and feet when I walked short distances. So when I discovered Gil and the MT program through my friend, Marsha, I decided to invest in myself.

At first I was skeptical. Make healthier choices, no gym, no restrictions? If it was that simple, how did I end up here? The fact is, it is and it isn’t that simple. There are other variables to consider that I had been ignoring or was completely unaware of. It wasn’t just about changing what I ate or how much I ate. It was about accountability, being able to maintain my new lifestyle and taking care of myself as a whole. Again, common sense stuff but Gil introduced the information and broke it down in a way that made it easy to understand and incorporate into my life.

I have lost over 25 lbs now and I’m still amazed by how simple it is to maintain what I’ve been doing for the past 10 months. The pain I had in my back and feet are gone, I feel good about myself again and the best part is I am not depriving myself. No gym, no restrictions, no gimmicks.

The most important takeaway from the MT program for me was understanding and accepting that you can have days where there might be more calorie dense foods and less nutrient dense foods. One serving of chocolate cake might turn into two. But it doesn’t mean that you’ve sabotaged yourself. This had been my old way of thinking and it would leave me feeling depressed and defeated and then I’d eat my feelings and the cycle would start again. Now when that happens, (because it does happen) I see it as an opportunity to be more mindful of my overall wellness. It signals me to pay attention to how I’m feeling and what is going on, adjust as necessary and get back on track. As Gil always says, a few “bad” days are not going to ruin your progress as long as you are consistent most of the time.

I’m grateful that I found and joined the MT program and proud of myself for making my health and wellbeing a priority.
